I. BACKGROUND
Bernard Madoff conducted a massive Ponzi scheme through his investment firm, Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities, LLC (“BMIS”). After it was uncovered in December 2008, Madoff was arrested, BMIS went into bankruptcy, and the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (“SIPC”) applied to this Court (Stanton, J.) to commence a liquidation proceeding under the Securities Investor Protection Act (“SIPA”). 1 The application was granted, the Court appointed a trustee,…
