Claimant, Matthew Bearing, filed an application for adjustment of claim against the employer, Edward Hines Precision Components, seeking benefits under the Workers’ Compensation Act (Act) (820 ILCS 305/1 et seq. (West 2000)). An arbitrator found that claimant’s injuries did not arise out of the course of his employment. The Illinois Industrial Commission (Commission) reversed the arbitrator’s decision and entered an award for claimant. The circuit court of Kane County confirmed the Commission.
