The writ of mandamus prayed for is to compel the town council of South Kingstown to order a new election of senator and representative under the provisions of Pub. Laws R.I. cap. 710, § 18, of March 22, 1888. That chapter was passed at the January Session, 1888, and is entitled "An act to incorporate the District of Narragansett, in South Kingstown, R.I."
