These actions of trespass on the case for negligence were tried together to a jury in the superior court and resulted in verdicts for the plaintiffs who are husband and wife. Each case is here on the plaintiff’s exception to the trial justice’s decision granting the defendant’s motion for a new trial.

The cause of each action arose out of an automobile accident in which the wife sustained personal injuries. The husband’s action is for consequential damages on account of such injuries. The accident occurred on Massasoit ave nue in the city of East Providence on March 16, 1960 at about 10:30…
