WIDENER, Circuit Judge:
This appeal presents us with the interesting question of whether a federal court sitting in diversity appropriately deferred to a Virginia rule excluding evidence.1 The jury returned a verdict in favor of defendant Beech Aircraft Corporation in a wrongful death action brought by Sally S.
