REED, Judge.

Tommy Gregory, Jr. was convicted in Knox County of leaving, deserting or aban*266doning his pregnant wife in destitute or indigent circumstances and without making proper provision for her board, clothing and proper care. [KRS 435.240(1).] His punishment was fixed at confinement for one year. He appeals, claiming that the county in which he was tried was not a proper venue for prosecution of the offense.
