Pearce v. Couvillon

This is a suit by resident property owners of Bunkie to enjoin the collection of 2 mills of a 4-mill tax levied by the police jury of Avoyelles parish for general parochial purposes. A preliminary injunction was issued, several exceptions were filed and overruled, issue was joined on the merits, the case ,was tried, and, from a judgment sustaining the validity of the tax levy, dissolving the preliminary injunction, and dismissing the suit, the plaintiffs appealed.
