In the Circuit Court for Baltimore County, Mary Katherine Daughton, the appellant, sued the Maryland Automobile Insurance Fund (“MAIF”), the appellee, for breach of contract and declaratory judgment, alleging 1) that it failed to pay her Personal Injury Protection (“PIP”) benefit claim within 30 days, in violation of Md.Code (2006 Repl.Vol., 2010 Supp.) section 19-505 of the Insurance Article (“Ins.”); and 2) that it then failed to pay interest on the late payment, in violation of Ins. section 19-508.
