In November 1978, August Myszka employed the law firm of Henson, Collins, and Butler, P. C., to pursue a property damage claim against the City of Columbus, Georgia, and Ray M. Wright, Inc., a real estate developer. His contract with the firm provided that he would pay attorney fees in the amount of 100 percent of the first $2,000 recovered and 40 percent of any recovery beyond that amount.
