The Plaintiffs, as welfare recipients and participants in the Pennsylvania Medical Assistance Program (PMAP), have filed their Complaint on behalf of themselves and all others similarly situated against the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare (Department) and certain of its Officers and/or Administrative Representatives. They challenge the State of Pennsylvania’s refusal to provide reimbursement for the cost of abortions which they sought to have performed at Magee-Womens Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
