MEMORANDUM ON TRUSTEE’S OBJECTION TO EXEMPTION

Before the court is the Objection to Amended Exemption Claim filed by Maurice K. Guinn, the Chapter 7 Trustee, on July 8, 1999. At issue are the exemptions claimed by the Debtor, Norma Howard Smith, under 38 U.S.C.A. § 1970(g) (West Supp.1999) and 38 U.S.C.A. § 5301 (West 1991 & Supp.1999), for $10,000.00 in proceeds from a National Service Life Insurance Policy.
