STATEMENT OF THE CASE

Plaintiff Dixie Ales, the mother of Barbara Ales, filed a complaint in the Circuit Court of Panola County on January 28, 1991, against Barbara Ales. She claimed damages from her daughter, Barbara Ales, in the amount of $30,000 for injuries sustained in a one-car accident. Barbara filed a motion for summary judgment on July 8, 1991, asserting that her mother's cause of action was barred by the doctrine of parent-child immunity.
