BENHAM, Justice.
In a bifurcated trial, appellant Michael Bernard Jones was convicted of the felony murder of Curtis Tony Howard (with aggravated assault as the predicate felony), possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. On appeal, Jones contends he was deprived of his constitutional right to effective assistance of counsel.
