Following a bench-trial, appellant was convicted of the offense of “Possession or Transport of Certain Chemicals With Intent to Manufacture Controlled Substance.” See Tex. Health & Safety Code Ann. § 481.124 (Vernon Supp.2003). 1 The trial court assessed punishment at confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice — Correctional Institutions Division for a term of ten years, with an added fine of $1,500.
