State v. Collins

Louisiana Court of Appeal

Decided February 22, 1989No. 20135-KAPublishedCited by 2 opinions

1Opinion of the Court

NORRIS, Judge.

Willie B. Collins was charged by bill of information with simple burglary of a movable, LSA-R.S. 14:62. He proceeded to jury trial and was convicted. The trial judge later denied his motion for a new trial and post verdict judgment of acquittal and sentenced him to ten years at hard labor. Collins now appeals, urging three assignments of error:(1) The trial court should have granted the motion for new trial and post verdict judgment of acquittal.(2) The evidence was legally insufficient to convict.(3) The sentence is excessive.

For the reasons expressed, we affirm.
