*286 The petitioner, Hudel Gamble, appeals from the judgment of the habeas court denying his petition for a writ of habeas corpus. On appeal, the petitioner claims that the court improperly rejected *230 his claim of ineffective assistance of appellate counsel. We are not persuaded by the petitioner's arguments, and, accordingly, affirm the judgment of the habeas court. *287 The following facts and procedural history are relevant to the resolution of the petitioner's appeal.
