Appeal from a judgment of the County Court of Rensselaer County (Sheridan, J.), rendered July 3, 1996, upon a verdict convicting defendant of the crime of robbery in the second degree.

At approximately 1:40 a.m. on November 18, 1995, a gas station in the City of Troy, Rensselaer County, was robbed at gunpoint. The clerk promptly reported the robbery and gave the police a detailed description of the perpetrator.
