Ernest Barragan Lopez and Willard Arthur Winhoven were found guilty after jury trial of one count of murder and four counts of attempted murder. The jury fixed the penalty on the murder count at death as to both defendants. Each appeals from the judgments 1 rendered accordingly, from orders denying their respective motions for new trials on all counts and from orders denying their respective motions to reduce the penalty on the murder count.
