for the court:
¶ 1. On January 11, 2012, a Grenada County jury convicted Marvelle Pryor of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The circuit court sentenced Pryor, as a violent habitual offender, to life imprisonment in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, without eligibility for parole. Pryor filed a motion for a judgment notwithstanding the verdict (JNOV) or, in the alternative, a new trial, which the court denied.
