McGINLEY, Judge.

Otis Elevator Company (Employer) appeals from an order of the Workmen’s Compensation Appeal Board (Board) that affirmed a referee’s decision granting Steven M. Harding (Claimant) total disability benefits for a psvchiatric iniurv.

Claimant was employed as an elevator mechanic by Employer until his layoff on April 20, 1990. On March 8, 1990, Claimant was temporarily assigned to the Core States Building where he was in charge of the maintenance of the building’s twenty elevators. At about 1:00 P.M. Claimant received a call that an elevator was stuck on the fifteenth floor.…
