This action was brought in the Supreme Court in" Kings county to recover the sum of $3,000 as'damages - for a 'wrongful eviction. *365The action was tried and a jury returned a verdict for the plaintiff for $650, which was reduced by the trial court to $450. On behalf of the plaintiff a bill of costs was presented to the clerk for adjustment, and on. objection made by defendants that the recovery as reduced by the trial court was less than the sum of $500 and that the action might have been brought in the City Court of Yew York, the clerk sustained the objection and the…
