MEMORANDUM ORDER

BOBRICK, United States Magistrate Judge.

Before the court is the motion of defendant Marvin T. Runyon to strike the claim of plaintiff Mitzi Baker for punitive damages.

I. BACKGROUND

Plaintiff filed her complaint under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 42 U.S.C. § 2000e, et seq. (“1964 Act”), and the Civil Rights Act of 1991, 42 U.S.C. § 1981a, et seq. (“1991 Act”), alleging sex discrimination and retaliation. She seeks both compensatory and punitive damages against her employer, the United States Postal Service (“Postal Service”).
