Appeal by the defendant from a judgment of the County Court, Westchester County (Lange, J.), rendered November 29, 2000, convicting him of murder in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, upon a jury verdict, and imposing sentence.

Ordered that the judgment is affirmed.

Contrary to the defendant’s contention, the trial court providently exercised its discretion in making its Sandoval ruling (see People v Sandoval, 34 NY2d 371, 374-375 [1974]). The trial court balanced the probative value of the evidence and its possible prejudice to the defendant, and…
