At the township election in the town of Jersey, in Jersey county, held on April 3, 1928, appellee, Gus Cray, was the democratic candidate, and appellant, Wed ter Davenport, was the republican candidate for the office of highway commissioner. The returns of the election judges and the canvass thereof showed that appellant received 692 votes and appellee 689 votes, giving appellant a majority of three votes.
