Pullman Palace Car Company, the appellee, owned a building in Pullman known as Nos. 751 and 753 Cottage Grove street, and on September 1, 1897, leased the same to Ben Broadhead. The building was erected for a residence and stood back from the sidewalk about eight feet, but the first floor was occupied as a grocery and meat market. The room occupied as a store room was four feet above the ground and was entered by two doors, one at the north and the other at the south side.
