Larmond Hall was indicted for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, cocaine, in violation of § 13A-12-212, Ala. Code 1975. Hall filed a motion to suppress all evidence seized after his vehicle was stopped by a police officer on October 13, 2001, contending that the evidence was obtained as a result of an illegal search. After a hearing, the trial court denied Hall's motion to suppress. Thereafter, Hall entered a guilty plea to the charged offense, reserving the right to appeal the "issue of improper/illegal search."1 (C. 18.) Hall was sentenced to 18 months' imprisonment.
