I. Introduction and Procedural History

Louise Ogima originally filed this suit in the 21st Judicial District Court for the Parish of Livingston, Louisiana against Marsha Rodriguez and her automobile insurer, State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company (State Farm). Plaintiff claimed that she sustained damages because of the negligent manner Rodriguez was driving her vehicle.
