This case came before the Supreme Court on September 25, 2012, pursuant to an order directing the parties to appear and show cause why the issues raised in this appeal should not summarily be decided. The defendant, Yara Chum (Chum or defendant), appeals from a conviction of two felony counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and one count of discharging a firearm while committing a crime of violence.
