These two appeals, No. 6425 and No. 6859, from the Family Court, raise questions concerning the statute of limitations provision of Hawaii’s Uniform Parentage Act, HRS Chapter 584. The primary issue is whether a cause of action which was once barred by the expiration of the statute of limitations can be revived by a subsequent legislative enactment extending the original period of limitations.
