Action by Dennis L. Wright against the Knights of the Maccabees of the World to compel defendant to restore plaintiff to membership after suspension for nonpayment of dues. Judgment for plaintiff.

The defendant is a mutual fraternal benefit as-

sociation, organized under and by virtue of the statutes of the state of Michigan, having its principal or home office in the city of Port Huron, in said state, with branches or subordinate bodies known as “Tents” in other places in said state and in other states, one of which is located in the city of Watertown, N. Y., ,and is known as “Tent No. 418.” The defendant seems to have been authorized by the Insurance Department of the state of New York to do business here, pursuant to Laws 1892, c. 690, § 232 et seq.
