Following a bench trial in this negligence action, the circuit court entered judgment in favor of plaintiff Richard Laba and against defendant Jeevan Kumar Hahay (also known as Mahay), and awarded plaintiff monetary damages. Prior to trial, defendant had filed a motion, seeking, among other things, leave to file a jury demand. The court granted defendant’s motion in part, but denied defendant’s request for leave to file a jury demand as untimely.
