MEMORANDUM AND ORDER
WEINSTEIN, District Judge.
While he was a detective in an elite anti-narcotics squad of New York City, defendant King allegedly obtained large sums by extortion from high-level narcotics dealers and by selling drugs he had seized. In preparation for trial on charges of failure to declare these proceeds as income, 26 U.S.C. §§ 7201, 7203 and 7206(1), the United States Attorney issued a subpoena duces tecum directing the Department of Finance of the City of New York to furnish defendant’s relevant “original New York City Income Tax Returns . . . reflecting filing records and…
