Helen M. Holmes brought an action against the Birtman Electric Company and its stock transfer agent, The First National Bank of Chicago, for damages resulting from their refusal to reissue Birtman Stock certificates in the name of plaintiff alone in place of certificates standing in the name of plaintiff and her deceased father, Charles Hansel, as joint tenants. Plaintiff and defendants moved for a summary judgment. The court sustained plaintiff’s motion for a summary judgment on the issue of liability.
