This is a civil action that was originally brought by five individuals who joined as plaintiffs to recover damages from the defendant, Lieutenant Alfred S. Palange of the South Kingstown Police Department, for alleged false imprisonment and malicious prosecution. The case was tried before a jury in the Superior Court and resulted in a verdict for the defendant. After entry of judgment, the plaintiffs appealed.
