COFFEY, Circuit Judge.

Lavoyce Billingsley (Billingsley) was convicted by a jury on one count of interstate transportation of a stolen motor vehicle. See 18 U.S.C. § 2312. He was sentenced to 41 months’ incarceration. We affirm.

I. Background

In early October 1994, Billingsley made plans at his home in South Holland, Illinois to visit his girlfriend at Iowa State University, in Ames, Iowa. Billingsley invited his friend, DeJuan Ward (Ward), who had trav-elled to Ames with Billingsley on a prior occasion, to accompany him.
