Appellees Elmer and Alta Beukema, husband and wife, filed their petition for adoption of Linda Sue Cannon January 4, 1950. The proceeding was brought under chapter 600, Iowa Code 1950, I. C. A. A copy of the written consent of Dolar C. Gannon, father of the two-year-old child and having sole custody of her under the divorce decree, was attached to the petition. Code section 600.3.
