This inquiry probed much of the defendant’s professional conduct since 1958. The scope of the inquiry and the gravity of the misconduct are best described by reviewing each charge and the referee’s findings thereon.

Defendant was found guilty of commingling the funds of his clients with his personal funds in two specific instances. In the Carey J. Carey Estate defendant received a check for $1,419.50 on August 27, 1962, to be used to pay certain estate bills including the decedent’s funeral expenses.
