¶ 1. This is a review of an unpublished court of appeals opinion1 that affirmed Deandre Buchanan's conviction for possessing marijuana with intent to deliver. The question we address in this case is whether the evidence Buchanan unsuccessfully sought to suppress was seized in violation of the federal and state constitutional provisions barring unreasonable search and seizure. The threshold question is whether the initial protective search of Buchanan and his vehicle was valid; if it was valid, we must also address whether the piece of marijuana plant that the Wisconsin State Trooper…
