In the month of July, 1930, the plaintiff appointed the defendant as its local agent in the city of Monroe to solicit and sell insurance of different kinds within certain limits and under certain restrictions. This appointment was made in person by Harry S. Kaufman, Jr., a member and officer of Harry S. Kaufman, Limited, of New Orleans, general agent of the plaintiff in Louisiana. All the details of “planting” the agency were completed before Mr. Kaufman left the city and all necessary stationery and supplies were left with the defendant.
