Orman & Crook contracted with The Crystal River Railroad Company, in September, 1892, to construct certain parts of the road. When the work was done, there remained due a little upwards of thirty thousand dollars out of the total contract price of some two hundred and sixty-eight thousand dollars which the company had agreed to pay. The company failed to pay, and on the 4th of October, 1898, the contractors filed a lien statement with the clerk and recorder of the counties through which the road ran.
