Appellant Delania Fields was indicted by a Letcher County Grand Jury for the murder of her newborn child. She was convicted of manslaughter in the first degree and sentenced to twenty years in prison. She appeals to this court as a matter of right, Ky. Const. § 110(2)(b), asserting three claims of error, viz: (1) there was insufficient evidence of extreme emotional disturbance to warrant an instruction on first-degree manslaughter; (2) the Commonwealth was permitted to introduce irrelevant and inflammatory evidence; and (3) a prospective juror should have been excused for…
