On the 3rd of January, 1913, the defendant D. Scott 'Thompson entered into a contract with the Pennsylvania ■Sales Corporation, assignor of the plaintiff in this case, by which he became the agent of that concern for the sale of ■Michigan automobiles and their accessories in certain designated territory. The provisions of the contract, so far as they ■are material to the determination of the questions involved here, are that Thompson deposited one thousand dollars with ■the Sales Corporation to be held by it as security for the payment of any amount which he might owe, and to be…
