This case involves a motion to suppress evidence obtained in an allegedly illegal search. According to the defendant, the police officers’ failure to announce their authority and purpose prior to the execution of the search warrant for narcotics violated the defendant’s constitutional right, guaranteed under the fourth and fourteenth amendments, to be free from unreasonable searches.
