This action was brought by subcontractors who worked on a major building renovation project in downtown Portland.1 They sought recovery against Haertl Constructors, Inc. (Haertl), the general contractor, for amounts due on the subcontracts and sought to foreclose construction liens against Chung Doo Shin, the owner of the property, and Camera World Company (Camera World), the lessee.
