On July 30, 1995, Robyn Ross Owens was found shot to death at the Elk’s Club in Fordyce, Arkansas. Appellant, Stacey Moore, was subsequently charged with first-degree murder in connection with Owens’s death. Moore was also charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm. Moore was found guilty by a Dallas County jury of the lesser included offense of second-degree murder and of felon in possession of a firearm and was sentenced to serve twenty-eight years in the Arkansas Department of Correction.
