Following a bench trial, defendants, Kenneth Turner and Luvenia Givens, were each found guilty of one count of cruelty to children (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1989, ch. 23, par. 2368 (now 720 ILCS 115/53 (West 1992))). Defendants were sentenced to 30 months’ probation with counselling and ordered to pay costs.
