Jared Kelvin Smith was convicted of malice murder and theft by taking in connection with the stabbing death of Ronald Roach.1 Smith’s sole contention on appeal is that the trial court erred in allowing the medical examiner to provide expert opinion testimony about blood-spatter evidence depicted in photographs of the crime scene.
