This action was commenced before a justice of the peace in the city of St. Louis, against Louis A. Bacher, defendant, plaintiff filing a statement before the justice in which it is set" out that defendant had engaged plaintiff to procure for him a purchaser for certain property in St. Louis county, describing it, “then owned by defendant, and he promised and agreed to pay plaintiff a commission of five per cent upon the selling price of said property, in consideration of finding such purchaser which was then and there the reasonable value thereof.” The statement further set out that in…
