—The City of Spokane and the State of Washington, Department of Retirement Systems, appealed a summary judgment in favor of former Spokane Police Detective Daniel Newlun. The summary judgment was entered in favor of Mr. Newlun on his petition for review of a decision by the Director of Retirement Systems denying him a disability pension under the Law Enforcement Officers' and Fire Fighters' Act (LEOFFA), RCW 41.26.
