This is an appeal from the trial court’s dismissal of a post-conviction petition pursuant to the provisions of section 122 — 2.1(a) of the Post-Conviction Hearing Act. (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1985, ch. 38, par. 122—2.1(a).) Defendant was convicted of the offenses of unlawful possession of cannabis (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1983, ch. 56½, par. 704(d)) and possession with intent to deliver (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1985, ch. 56½, par. 705(d)) on March 30, 1985, and was sentenced on April 11, 1985, to a term of 30 months of incarceration.
